The raspberry is small fruit, conical or round, with a velvet like skin and red in color. The pulp is highly aromatic and the flavor is bitter sweet. In can be consumed raw or be used to manufacture jams, jellys and beverages. Raspberries provide potasium, iron and calcium. They have low soduim content. Its vitamins B3, C and folic acid contents stand out, although it also provides vitamins A, B1, B2 and B6. The raspberry (Rubus idaeus) is the fruit from the red raspberry plant.
